The situation
Dispatchers tracked trucks in a group chat. Fuel and delays were argued after the fact. Drivers used three apps. Nobody trusted the ETA on the customer WhatsApp.
What we did
- Device telemetry into a simple event stream, not a graveyard of GPS pings.
- Dispatcher UI: late, idle, geofence breach — not a wall of markers.
- Driver app for job status only; no extra consumer features.
- Daily fuel and idle summaries for ops, not a 40-tab BI project.
What changed
Exceptions surface while the vehicle is still on the road. Customers get fewer invented ETAs. Ops review a short daily pack instead of reconstructing the day from chat.
